The caramel-like mouthfeel, paired with an almost woody-rose aroma make this tea a captivating enigma.
This tea is formally known as Oriental Beauty, a highly prized Taiwanese Oolong primarily produced in Hsinchu County in Taiwan. It's also known as the Darjeeling of Oolongs. We'd like to second that!
What makes it unique is the green leafhopper that bites the leaves, causing a live oxidation in the leaves. Chemical reactions and the oxidation, produces a sweet thick mouthfeel in the tea, and in this particular tea we noticed a sweet sensation in the throat after sipping.
This tea is very versatile in the different ways it can be prepared, experiment to find your "sweet spot". (pun intended!)
How to Prepare:
Mug (8oz water):2 level tsp • 205º • Steep for 3 min.
Teapot: Recommended Method (8oz water): 2.5 level tsp • 205º • Steep for 3 min.
Resteep: 2 times for 2 min, then 1 time for 3 min.
Covered teapots retain more heat, therefore the Teapot method requires less time for steeping.
Add more tea to your taste to make the tea richer or stronger, rather than leaving the tea to steep longer than directed.
