March is so much about awakening for us.
We've had a long, cold, dark stretch of winter months that have kept us huddled inside with a nice warm cup of tea every day (or every few hours if you're like us).
I don't know about you, but we're ready to celebrate the warmer months already. March is when the hints of spring start to appear, a little flower bud there, and little melting here. Most importantly, our bodies are ready to come out of hibernation.
March's teas are there to help you do just that! The amazing Wellness Tea Jump Start helps your body hit the reset button, and kickstart your endurance and metabolism back to life. It's got a very simple flavor, but does so much for you.
We selected all of the teas to be perfect for cold drinking as well (if you dare). There are instructions for cold brewing and iced tea preparation on each bag you receive.
The Steeping Instructions below are meant as a guideline for you to steep your teas. If you prefer a stronger taste, we recommend adding up to .5 tsp extra of tea. Don't steep the tea for longer, as some of the teas have been timed to release the right amount of flavor and ensure no bitterness will result. If you have any questions, we're always here to help!
Here are the 3 delicious teas you have in your box this month and how to make them:
Wellness Tea Jump Start
flavors: cinnamon • rooibos
Tasting Notes: Honey, grassy aroma. This one is very lightly cinnamon flavored, and is more about the effects of the herbs.
Chickweed: Anti-bacterial, saponins help absorption of nutrients, can assist in breaking down fat cells.
Eleuthero: reduces fatigue, and increases stamina.
Tulsi: Stress relieving (you can read more here).
Mug (8oz water): 1 level tsp • 205º • Steep for 7 min.
Boil fresh water to a soft boil (not hard, rapid boil). Place tea in your mug/teacup and pour hot water over the tea. Let steep 7 minutes.
Teapot (8oz water): 1 level tsp • 205º • Steep for 6 min.
Place tea in your teapot. Boil fresh water and wait 30 seconds before pouring over the tea. Let steep 6 minutes.
Multiple Infusions: I've played around with this one, you can easily add about a .5 tsp more of the tea for a second steep. It's delicious for a second cup!
Rooibos Tea Vanilla
flavors: vanilla bean
Tasting Notes: This tea is incredibly smooth and satisfying! We go back to this tea time after time for it's comforting and satisfying effect.
Mug (8oz water): 2 level tsp • 200º • Steep for 6 min.
Teapot (8oz water): 2.5 level tsp • 200º • Steep for 5 min.
Boil fresh water, pour into teapot and wait 15 sec. Place tea in your teapot and wet the tea by swirling or dunking. Let steep 5 minutes.
Fruit Tea Carrot Muffin
flavors: carrot • coconut • almond
Tasting Notes: This delicious blend tastes just like biting into a warm carrot muffin without raisins. It has a nutty and sweet aroma.
Mug (8oz water): 3 level tsp • 212º • Steep for 8 min.
Boil fresh water to a rapid boil. Place tea in your mug/teacup and pour hot water over the tea. Let steep 8 minutes.
Teapot (8oz water): 3 level tsp • 212º • Steep for 8 min.
Place tea in your mug/teacup. Boil fresh water and pour directly over tea. Let steep 7 minutes.
Extra Sample of:
If you have a tea kettle with a built in thermometer you can pour hot water directly on tea leaves, without waiting.
It's recommended to use a tea filter bag or infuser that allows the leaves to float freely.
Adding more tea makes it taste stronger, not steeping the tea leaves longer.
Don't use microwave heated water, the lack of oxygen will make your tea taste flat.
