Welcome to February's Steeping Guide! We're so thrilled to kick off your month of love with some Valentine's Day inspired teas.

February is a wonderful month to practice some self-care. We're very excited to share the different flavors we've put together to make your February extra special. 

A favorite this month is the Wellness Tea Mindful Magic. It's such a gorgeous tea, and so well-balanced! We're sure you're going to enjoy this one. As a side note, if you're nursing, pregnant, or on blood thinners or diuretics, we recommend consulting with your physician before drinking this one. Although it has a small amount of stinging nettle, we recommend being cautious! 

We hope you enjoy your special self-care gift this month. This Organic and cruelty-free aromatherapy massage oil is great for putting moisture back into your skin (it's a wonderful, non-drying product) or to use for body massage. We use it in the winter months after a hot shower to keep our skin from turning into flaky sandpaper :) 

The Steeping Instructions below are meant as a guideline for you to steep your teas. If you prefer a stronger taste, we recommend adding up to .5 tsp extra of tea. Don't steep the tea for longer, as some of the teas have been timed to release the right amount of flavor and ensure no bitterness will result. If you have any questions, we're always here to help!

Tasting Notes: This tea starts off with a subtle herbacious taste, and then a punch of sweet/tart tangerine flavor surprises your tastebuds.
Stinging Nettle can do many wonderful things. It has natural anti-histamine and anti-inflammatory properties, making it a wonderful substitute for allergy medicine and works well with NSAIDS. We definitely recommend speaking with a physician first if you're pregnant, nursing, or on diuretics or blood thinners. Just to be on the safe side! 

Steeping instructions: 

Mug (8oz water): 1.5 level tsp • 205º • Steep for 6 min. 

Boil fresh water to a soft boil (not hard, rapid boil). Place tea in your mug/teacup and pour hot water over the tea. Let steep 6 minutes.

Teapot (8oz water): 2.5 level tsp • 205º • Steep for 5 min.

Place tea in your teapot. Boil fresh water and wait 30 seconds before pouring over the tea. Let steep 5 minutes.

Tasting Notes: This light, sweet tea explodes with an equal balance of cinnamon and orange. It's a wonderful addition to your nighttime wind down. Try this one without any sweetener first, before experimenting. 

Steeping instructions: 

Mug (8oz water): 2 level tsp • 205º • Steep for 6 min.

flavors: roasted almond • apple • sweet citrus

Tasting Notes: Light and bright apple notes are followed by roasted almonds, and a nice touch of sweet citrus. This one will surprise you!


Steeping instructions: 

Mug (8oz water): 2 level tsp • 195º • Steep for 12-14 min. 

Boil fresh water, pour into mug and wait 20 sec. Place tea in your mug/teacup and wet the tea by swirling or dunking. Let steep 12-14 minutes.

Teapot (8oz water): 3 level tsp • 195º • Steep for 12-14 min. 

Boil water, wait 30 seconds. Pour boiling water into your teapot. Add tea and wet them by swirling or dunking. Let steep for 12-14 minutes.


General Recommendations:

If you have a tea kettle with a built in thermometer you can pour hot water directly on tea leaves, without waiting.

It's recommended to use a tea filter bag or infuser that allows the leaves to float freely.

Adding more tea makes it taste stronger, not steeping the tea leaves longer.

Don't use microwave heated water, the lack of oxygen will make your tea taste flat.
